THANK YOU FOR OVER 100 FAVES!
Well, everyone wanted Namir in her Halloween costume for this year according to the poll, so here she is. Scanner tried really hard to destroy this one, but I managed to save it somewhat.
I hope you enjoy Namir in her Halloween attire for this year.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Colored with Prismacolor Pencils.

I love this - I admit, i don't know who Namir is, but she looks like a female version of a representation of Death to me - kinda like in Gaiman's "Sandman," so this works as a piece of art even outside it's context. I love how you made this scary, Death-like woman look look alluring, cute and sexy. I really do think there's an allure in Death, at least, for some of us, who live with a lot of physical and/or mental suffering. To me this is how i think of Death, friendly, providing a release from physical suffering, someone you'd want to hang out with, someone you'd want to take you from this world into the next manifestation. Okay, that was all sorta grim, i'm sorry. But, not knowing who Namir is, that's what i get out of this drawing.
Regarding the pencils, you did a really great job of creating this scene and setting with fewer strokes of the pencil - sometimes pencilling can be overwrought, and other times it can be too minamal, but you've created a nice balance, with a great deal of depth, contrast, and detail. I really love how you used the blues and purples as low lights to create details in the white gown. I really love the pencilling on the pumpkin, that musta taken some time. I like how you balanced small pumpkin with the lamp, and the headstone with the floating ghost. You have a really nice style altogether.
