Greetings! It's time for the 17th Sanguem Deus Contest! I allowed you all to choose the character and theme for this contest, so I hope to see lots of amazing entries. So get those gears going and show me what you've got! There are lots of awesome prizes, so don't miss out.
WHAT IS SANGUEM DEUS?: Sanguem Deus is a comic project that I am working on with my husband.
The world and all characters within belong to us and we wish to share their story with you! Keep an eye out and watch the group below if you wish to follow the story.
SD Contest 17: Cassidy - Theme and Character Info
CONTEST THEME: Draw the character Cassidy in any situation of your choosing
A mischievous mercenary commonly known as The Raven, Cassidy works under the mentoring of the well known Jantesian warrior Boaz Manton. His peers are the protagonist of the story Sapphirine and the mercenary known as The Wolf, Xyza. Cassidy's temperament is typically quiet with a sarcastic undertone, unless of course he's dealing with Xyza, then he's like an obedient puppy. People have been known to experience confusion, delusions, and hallucinations in his presence. The cause is unknown.Fun Facts:
Cassidy is a trickster and loves pulling tricks on people whether innocent or malicious.
Cassidy loves playing cards, and almost always seems to have a set on hand.
Cassidy has a pet raven named Edgar that he can use to communicate with others and spy from a distance.
Cassidy considers people watching to be his hobby, and would rather quietly listen than directly interact in an event.
Cassidy is a distant fighter and prefers throwing bladed objects and avoiding any physical contact.

Cassidy must be the main subject of the image. You can have other characters in the picture interacting with him as long as he is the main subject. I prefer you use Sanguem Deus cast only, but if you would like to use your original character that is fine. Please make sure that you have an equal number or more Sanguem Deus characters than your original characters, though. This is a Sanguem Deus contest after all.
Your picture can be a headshot, waist up, knees up, full body, chibi, etc. Doesn't matter.
Backgrounds are not a requirement, but your picture must be completed! I will not accept sketches. The image needs to either be full color or if using black and white materials it must be fully shaded.
Please only submit digital and/or traditional drawings. No photomanipulations, bases, dolls, literature, or traces. The art must be completely created by YOU!
Textures and Brushes are okay to use as long as proper credit is given to the creator of the texture/brush.
Make sure you give credit to `

lordpenguinman for the creation of Cassidy and Sanguem Deus in your art description.
You can submit up to two entries, but no more than this!
When your entry is completed, please send me a NOTE with your entry, and title the note something like "SD 17 Contest Entry" or something similar.
You cannot use old artwork. The picture must be created/submitted on or after October 26th, 2012.
Please mention and provide a link to this contest in your artist description to show you are participating! Entries without this will not be accepted.
Anyone can participate! No need to ask! If you want to enter, please just enter. I'm happy to receive your entry.
